Willie, Bon Jovi, Vince Young design bricks to benefit cancer patients

Nationally known artists and celebrities are busy placing their own unique designs on bricks for the second “If I Had A Brick” auction benefiting the patients of the Dan Rudy Cancer Center at Saint Thomas Hospital.

“This event benefits the programs and facilities that we can offer our patients everyday at our cancer center,” said Virginia Brooks, director of the Dan Rudy Cancer Center.

“Funds will be used for an educational resource room for patients and their families, a community based facility for support sessions, and a variety of classes, nutritional counseling, massage therapy and a host of other patient centered services.”

The gala evening will be held April 19 at LP Field and will include live entertainment, a cocktail supper, and both a silent and live auction of these unique bricks embellished with designs, sculpture, mosaic, paint and autographs.

This year’s auction will include beautiful hand painted and designed bricks from well-known artists like Sylvia Hyman, Phil Ponder, Paul Harmon and Joanne Jewett.

Celebrities are also busy designing their own bricks; those will include bricks from Willie Nelson, Brooks and Dunn, George Strait, Jon Bon Jovi, as well as Vince Young and Keith Bulluck of the Tennessee Titans.

Le 19 avril 2007, une vente aux enchères sera organisée par le Centre du Cancer Dan Rudy à l'Hôpital Saint Thomas, pour venir en aide aux personnes atteintes de cette maladie et à leur famille.

C'est la deuxième année que cet évènement intitulé "If I had a brick" (autrement dit "si j'avais une brique"), a lieu.

De nombreux artistes vont participer dont Jon. Ils vont chacun concevoir et créer eux-mêmes leur propre brique peinte et décorée de leurs mains, puis ces briques seront mises aux enchères et vendues au plus offrant.

Voici ci-dessous la brique peinte et signée par Jon et qui sera vendue le 19 avril prochain.
